The Oracle
The Oracle
Recovered from the Louisiana Labyrinth Archive, The Oracle appears to exist in a state between concealment and revelation. A deep indigo cranium marked by copper-toned fractures rests within pale skeletal hands emerging from a mineral-like pedestal, as though the artifact is simultaneously being offered, protected, or restrained.
Under standard viewing conditions, the specimen presents as weathered bone supporting a vessel of darkened thought. Illumination from below accentuates the translucent nature of the hands and reveals subtle movement within the layered pigments of the skull itself.
Under alternate wavelengths, dormant compounds awaken. The hands emit an ethereal blue radiance, ocular cavities ignite in vivid green, and a fracture traversing the crown fluoresces with surprising intensity. Researchers remain divided as to whether these responses indicate stored energy, adaptive behavior, or simply an unusual appreciation for dramatic lighting.
Observers frequently report lingering eye contact with the artifact despite its partially obscured face. Several have admitted to speaking to it unprompted. No responses have yet been documented.
Observe closely. The artifact exhibits unusual properties under alternate wavelengths.
